Joanne Gordon – NORTH DERBYSHIRE TINNITUS SUPPORT GROUP

The Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Tinnitus Support Group has been going 32 years, providing help and support for people suffering from Tinnitus. Audrey Carlin, who runs the group is keen to get knowledge of the group out and about, so that many more people can receive help and support. We like to join in and get involved with other voluntary and community groups, leaders and networks. That’s why we were glad to join in the Dronfield get 2gether recently. It allowed us to talk to local people about our work and hopefully get our name known around Dronfield. If there are more community days like Dronfield get2gether, please let us know. We are setting up workshops in and around North Derbyshire and would like a suitable venue in Dronfield.

Derbyshire Community Transport started life over 30 years ago as Amber Valley Community Transport in Ripley, merging with Chesterfield & District Community Transport in 2010 to become CT4TC.

In April this year we became part of HCT Group, a large scale Social Enterprise and the biggest provider of Community Transport services in the country.

Since October 2017 we have been operating the Derbyshire Connect (Shopping Bus) service on behalf of Derbyshire County Council in the Amber Valley, Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, Bolsover and Erewash areas.

Derbyshire Connect is a bookable door to door shopping bus service for people who are unable to use conventional buses because of mobility difficulties or because they live in areas with limited bus services.

The Derbyshire Connect service provides a once a week service to a local town centre or supermarket. The day and time of the trip is advised upon registration and booking.

The REALLY good news is this service is completely FREE OF CHARGE for Gold Card (Bus Pass) holders.

At Derbyshire Victim Services, we can provide you with practical and emotional help in the following ways:

  • Someone to talk to and listen to you
  • Someone to help you access a wide range of specialist support agencies
  • Someone to help you with a Criminal Injuries compensation claim

Someone to assist with whatever you need to help you cope and recover from the crime

We work with a wide range of specialist support providers across the county and can provide any help you might need in accessing these services. Whatever level of help you need, that’s what we are here to provide.

You can give us a call, an email, a text or we can undertake a home visit – whatever is best for you and we will listen to what you have to say. We will then agree with you how best we can provide the help you need. If you need something that we can’t provide we WILL find that service for you.
